Are you constantly trying to win the award for “best” wife, mother, lover, career woman, homemaker, daughter, and friend?
Do you feel the pressure of having to “act and think like a man” in order to be successful in today's business world?
Do you constantly feel that your looks are on display?
Do you feel that other women are more competition than confidantes?
Do you wish that you could relax more and simply toss away the roles you play day in and day out?
If so, you're not alone
We live in a world that pulls women in so many different directions and inflicts so many pre-conceived ideals upon us that it's a wonder any of us know who we are in the morning! It's as if we're “split in half,” caught between what we think we should do and feel and what the rest of the world dictates. These “splits” can make us angry, frustrated, withdrawn, even sick, both physically and mentally.
Splits can wreak havoc in our lives.
Fortunately it's because you're a woman, that you can heal yourself.
Feminine Power is a practical, down-to-earth weekend workshop that teaches you how to reconnect with your female energy and power through understanding, integrating and healing the major splits in your life:
SPLIT #1 - if I'm successful, why do I need to prove myself?
No matter how successful we are, we still feel that we have to prove ourselves to somebody, whether to our parents, our partner, our boss, or ourselves.
SPLIT #2 – what's more important to you — your family or your career?
Trying to balance career and family has made more than one woman put her hands up in the air and give up…or collapse with exhaustion. When we spend too much time on one, we feel guilty about slighting the other.
SPLIT #3 - can I be both smart and beautiful?
In a world that still looks at a woman's body as a commodity, it can be difficult to be taken seriously if we're beautiful. On the other hand, we spend so much time, money and energy trying to keep up with the unrealistic notion of what “beauty” is, that we lose a sense of who we are…our power as women.
So how do we reconcile these splits? By taking an empowering journey into our selves.
We'll discover the ancient wisdom of female energy and power and learn how to tap into this wisdom. We'll uncover how centuries of male energy concepts, imbedded in our education and culture, have made us lose touch with our natural female cycle and why this makes us feel so “off-kilter.”
To reconcile these splits we'll use as a reference, six different types of Female energy that all of us can recognize in daily life. These “types” are based on the goddesses found in Greek mythology:
See if you recognize yourself, or parts of yourself, in any one of them:
The Six Types of Female Energy
The Athena womanis a smartly-dressed career woman known for being hardworking, achievement-oriented, independent, and intellectual. She values education, a high degree of political and social awareness, and generally puts her career before her children and husband.
The Aphrodite woman is a sexually-charged woman who knows how to use her charm, beauty and body to achieve what she wants out of life. She tends to complicate her intimate relationships and believes in the promise of romance. She is also heavily influenced by the arts.
The Persephone woman is what we would call a New Age woman. She stands out in a crowed with her Indian print shawls and strings of beads accessorizing her body. She is interested in mysticism and the spirit world, matters of the occult, after-death experiences, even matters associated with death.
The Artemis woman is a woman who stands out because she can stand alone and face obstacles with unwavering perseverance. She is by nature, a loner, yet she is strong and adventurous. She loves the outdoors and animals and is concerned with alternative life-styles and women's communities.
The Demeter woman is an “earth-mother” type who is surprisingly adaptable to all situations: she is both very sweet and very strong, accepting of others yet decisively strict when warranted. She is concerned with all aspects of childbirth and women's reproductive cycles.
The Hera woman exudes power and will stop at nothing to get what she wants. Elegantly dressed and most likely, dripping with diamonds, she is most concerned with marriage, partnerships with men and issues of power as it concerns women in leadership roles.
When we learn how to harmonize and balance the different types of female energies within ourselves, we will achieve completion and healing.
This healing takes place through self-guided-visualizations, communication exercises, rituals, meditations, sharing and other techniques that will help us to tap into our female energies and view life from a new, enlightening perspective.
So go ahead, accept your soft, open and receptive side, learn to loosen up and enjoy your body as is, have fun and connect with other women…and be proud of who you are right now.
