Abundance is Not About Money

By Nisandeh Neta

Whenever I teach "Creating Your Own Reality Workshops",
money appears to be a major issue for most people; whether
rich or poor - everybody seems to want more of it.

Some state their goal as, "having 10 million dollars in the
bank", others write, "making 10,000 dollars a month", for
others it is "winning the jackpot in the lottery" whilst
many others wish for a state of being, "financially
independent".

Whatever your wish may be in relation to money, you need to
remember that...

Money is never the end result.

Most people are not interested in money just for the sake of
counting piles of notes.

What we do want is however, what money can actually buy,
i.e. a fast car, a bigger house, a better healthcare, an
exotic vacation, fame, influence or 1500 pairs of shoes...

After years of experimenting with conscious manifesting, I
discovered that it is more effective to focus on the end
result, rather than the amount of money required in order to
buy it.

Firstly, visualizing myself sipping margaritas on the sunny
beach of my private Caribbean island is far more exciting,
than visualizing the half a million dollars it will cost me.

Second, it is usually faster to manifest a result than to
honestly earn the money to buy it. Remember, there are many
ways to drive a sports car, buying it - is only one of them.

And in order to realize this, you need to move away from a
poverty mentality in order to create an abundance
mentality...

During one particular personal-growth workshop, a 52-year
old participant stood up and gave each of the 107 people
present, an expensive diamond ring - as a gift.
Later in the workshop, he shared that he was a wealthy
jeweler who made those expensive rings as gifts to open
people's eyes to the abundance of life, just as his eyes
were opened as a child...

It was on his 5th birthday that his uncle took him to a
local candy shop.
The uncle told the boy to choose whatever he wanted in the
store in whatever quantity he wished from all the available
candies.
The kid was momentarily overwhelmed and then took a paper
bag and filled it with some of his favorite candies.
He didn't take that much, but the lesson remained in his
young mind.
From this early age he could only notice the abundance of
life. Abundance of opportunities, of wealth, of beauty...

Most of us grow up with the opposite mentality - the poverty
mentality.
We are conditioned that there is not enough and that we have
to compete, fight and struggle to get what we need and want.
We continue in life with a hunger that can never be
fulfilled.

It doesn't matter how wealthy you may be. So long as you
carry with you a poverty mentality, you will always need
more, and will constantly worry about losing what you have
acquired. In this way, you will never know the true meaning
of rest or satisfaction.

To gain true insight into your relationship with money you
first need to clarify your beliefs concerning money.

Years ago I did the exercise we suggest in today's practice.
I remembered that as a child, my mother told me to wash my
hands after every time I used money. Suddenly it occurred to
me that I still do that; the underlying belief being that
"money is dirty".

Now, that didn't mean that I didn't make money. When I had
my own software company I made obscene amounts of money. But
as fast as I made this money - I spent it (and a few hundred
thousand more...)

And sure enough, if you (unconsciously) believe that money
is dirty - you either don't want anything to do with it (so
you don't make a lot), or you'd rather get rid of it as soon
as possible (like I did)...

In order to heal my relationship with money, I started a
"receiving ritual".
Whenever I received money I would hold the cash, check, or
bank slip in both hands, go within myself and say (in my
mind or out aloud): "Thank you for this money that came to
me. May this money come back to the one who gave it to me, a
thousands times. May this money, when I spend it, come back
to me a thousand times. Thank you."

And I really allowed the meaning of the words to permeate
me, filling me with a sense of abundance and worthiness.

And today I make much less money, but my life is abundant.

As a wise man already said: "It's not how much you have that
makes you rich, it is how little you need that makes you
rich".

To your prosperity...
